Communication Networks. In March of 2008 Dialogic released the chan_dialogicdiva channel driver, giving the evolving Asterisk/Open Source market access to the advanced media processing and signaling features available on the Dialogic Diva boards.
If used in an Asterisk system, chan_dialogicdiva can take advantage of the DSPs and rich media processing and signaling power of the Diva board to offload a number of functions that are usually handled by the CPU of the Asterisk Server. This can reduce the load on the CPU and benefit the performance, reliability and scalability of the Asterisk system. In addition the Diva board can conference up to 120 active callers without causing load on the CPU.
