Digium TDM2400P - Twenty Four FXS / FXO Ports Max
The
TDM2400P is a base board that
supports FXS (green) and FXO (red) quad port modules. The TDM2400P commonly is
used with the Open Source asterisk IP PBX (and variants) to connect to
traditional, analog telecommunication equipment. Adding FXS or FXO
modules to the TDM2400P base board creates bundles and changes the model
number in a structured way. For instance the TDM2401B includes a TDM2400P
and one quad port FXO module.
- The TDM2400P can have a maximum of 24 FXS and/or FXO ports (4 per module).
- An FXS interface connects an analog telephone or fax machine to asterisk.
- An FXO interface connects asterisk to an analog telephone line provided by the telephone company; ex: AT&T.

Because Digium is the creator of Asterisk, Digium hardware is designed specifically with Asterisk in mind. Digium hardware supports the full range of voice and data protocols that Asterisk supports. Digium hardware has been proven and tested in a wide range of installations worldwide. Digium has created an entire line of PCI hardware to unlock the power of Asterisk. Create the ultimate Asterisk PBX on your own Linux server with Digium's line of digital and analog cards which reduce the costs of traditional TDM and Voice Over IP implementations through open source, allowing full customizability.
Asterisk was designed to be able to do everything a traditional telephone system can do, and much, much more. Asterisk is, at it's heart, a PBX system. However, it includes a whole host of telephony features such as voicemail and call conferencing. Asterisk creates a PBX that rivals the features and functionality of traditional telephony switches. Asterisk is cost-effective, low-maintenance, and flexible enough to handle all voice and data networking. With Asterisk software, Digium hardware, and a common PC, anyone can replace an existing switch or complement a PBX by adding VoiceOverIP, voice mail, conferencing, and many other capabilities. Asterisk integrates with analog phones and most standards-based IP telephone handsets and software.
Proven through installations around the globe, and connecting the corner office to the most remote company outpost, Asterisk is solid and stable in either small office or Enterprise environments. Asterisk greatly reduces the cost of traditional telecommunication technology and operation, and moves voice over IP, VoIP, to the mainstream. Asterisk integrates a pre-existing analog telephone network with the benefits of IP technology, greatly reducing costs.
