The Grandstream HandyTone-488 (ATA-488)
received the Best of Show award at the 2005 Internet
Telephony Conference & Expo in Miami for its open standards and high sound
quality. The ATA-488 has one FXS port,
one FXS port and two Ethernet (RJ45) ports which allow you to connect an analog telephone or fax machine and a PC to an Ethernet network.
The ATA-488 has a built in router, NAT, DHCP (client and server)
and supports gateway and DMZ port forwarding. The ATA-488 can be
configured through a web
interface, an built-in IVR or can be
can be configured via a central configuration
file which eases mass installations. The HandyTone-488 uses powerful
Digital Signal Processing (DSP), advanced adaptive jitter control and
packet loss concealment technology to achieve
the highest sound quality. the ATA-488 reduces the cost of deploying your Voice over IP
network by simplifying the
installation process and protecting your investment in analog equipment.

DHCP (both client and server), NTP, PPPoE, STUN, TFTP, etc.

Supports call origination and termination to/from PSTN (via FXO port)
