Designed to address the voice, fax and data transmission needs of
enterprises, the Mediatrix® 2500 series T1 PRI IP routers combine VoIP and call
switching with QoS access routing and VPN. The Mediatrix 2500 series units are
integrated IP routers with two Ethernet ports, a serial V.35/X.21 port and one (Mediatrix
2531) or two (Mediatrix 2532) ISDN T1 primary rate interface ports. They
constitute an ideal solution for enterprise networks or for connecting to a
service provider’s broadband access over DSL, WLL or cable.
Product Overview
The Mediatrix 2500 series T1 PRI IP routers offer the intelligence and
flexibility enabling real-time QoS IP routing, VPN services and ISDN telephony
over IP. Equipped with two Ethernet ports and a serial V.35/X.21 port, the
Mediatrix 2500 series routers connect a LAN to a WAN over any Ethernet broadband
access. With NAT, DHCP, PPPoE, and ACL/Firewall, they provide complete LAN
network access control. Supporting 23 (Mediatrix 2531) or 46 (Mediatrix 2532)
simultaneous calls, the Mediatrix 2500 series routers link any standard T1 PRI
connection to the IP network, and deliver the clarity of toll-quality voice for
a comprehensive IP solution. The Mediatrix 2500 series routers bring superior
voice quality and network security by combining advanced prioritization and
traffic management with IPSec VPN and VoIP features. ISDN and QSIG tunneling
enable full-featured PBX networking over IP. T.38 FoIP, fax bypass, and modem
bypass capabilities ensure that the Mediatrix 2500 series routers seamlessly
transport all voice and data services.
With SIP, H.323 and multiple codec support, the Mediatrix 2500 series routers
offer flexibility and scalability for VoIP network integration and low bandwidth
voice. The configurable NT/TE PRI ports, call-switching and user programmable
call routing based on various criteria including caller/called ID, allow the
Mediatrix 2500 series routers to integrate smoothly into existing PBX and PSTN
networks.
Applications
The Mediatrix 2500 series routers meet the requirements of medium and large
enterprises that want to connect their ISDN equipment, such as ISDN PBXs,
through a PRI interface to an IP network. With an internal router, remote or
local sites can access public IP services or private data VPNs. Mediatrix 2500
series routers connect a LAN to the existing broadband connection and provide
the QoS and security necessary for voice, fax and data transmissions. Moreover,
they support secure Frame Relay access through a serial V.35/X.21 port.
The Mediatrix 2500 series routers also support transparent ISDN & QSIG
tunneling. PBXs can be networked using IP while still retaining complete
functionality to private voice networking. Designed specifically for enterprise
applications, the Mediatrix 2500 series routers make use of existing broadband
access equipment to connect to any standards-based VoIP network.
