Polycom 4000 Product Description
The Polycom IP 4000 is an excellent conference phone for offices or small to medium
sized conference rooms. It delivers exceptional room coverage and has optional
expansion microphones for extending the coverage for large conference rooms. Using
the standard configuration (without the optional external microphones) the conference
phone has a range of about 10 feet. If you attach the external microphone (pack
of two microphones) you can extend the range to up to 25 feet from the base
station.
Polycom is known as the leader in sound quality and has incorporated it’s cutting
edge background noise cancellation and echo cancellation technology into the
Polycom 4000. The Polycom 4000 uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) which
makes it compatible with many leading IP PBX’s on the market.
They Polycom 4000 is popular among the Asterisk Open Source IP PBX community because
it uses the SIP protocol by default.
The Polycom 4000 is very easy to use. There is convenient access to business
telephony functions you use most including transfer, hold, redial, and
conference with the menu driven use interface, viewable on a high-resolution
backlit LCD.
