The Polycom PoE cable for the Polycom 501 and 301 IP phones provides Cisco PoE compatiblilty for these phones. The 501 and 301 do not have the necessary hardware built in to receive power through the Ethernet cable. Using this cable allow the Polycom 501 and 301 to receive power via Cisco PoE.
