WiFi mobility offers exceptional value to VoIP installations and pays its own way with extra ROI for the embedded wireless network. The WPU7700 is more robust than competing brands and much less expensive than comparable high-end products.

Compared with costly cell phone minutes, the Unidata WPU-7700 will earn a quick payback on the initial investment. Along with controlling expenses, company managers can now control the flow of calls within their business. Capitalizing on the investment in an IP PBX or hosted PBX service is critical. Management needs the ability to process their company's internal/external calls even as their employees move throughout the facility or campus. With both WPA and WEP along with Secure RTP the WPU7700 will meet expectations for privacy in the medical field as dictated by HIPPA. Security is not just limited to government edict. Any financial transactions, technical discussions or personal conversations deserve the best encryption and protection from electronic eavesdropping.

Support is available in keeping with your network environment, from environments that use WiFi phones exclusively, to locations in which wireless LAN access points from multiple networking environments are installed. This is called dynamic network binding (DNB). The Unidata WPU-7700 automatically roams to the most suitable access point based on the wave strength and communication state from the most immediate access point. The roaming conditions flexibly change to match the access point. (Layer 2/layer 3 roaming compatibility). Support for SIP redundancy is offered. For example, the WPU7700 is enabled to communicate via a SIP server installed at a branch office if/when the main office SIP server should ever go down. Installing secondary SIP servers where appropriate ensures a secure communications path even in the presence of failure.

The WPU7700 has powerful security features conforming to such standards as WEP (64 /128 bits), and IEEE 802.IX (MD5/EAP-TLS), in order to prevent information leaks in a wireless LAN environment. The WPU7700 provides support for WEP, 802.1x EAP-MD5 / EAP-TLS / EAP-TTLS / PEAP, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, 802.11i Enterprise and Secure RTP. Authentication via 802.IX (EAP-TLS) achieves secure communications using electronic certificates issued by VeriSign Japan. Communications encryption and prevention of terminal spoofing allows you to access communications comfortably and securely in any environment.

Capacity is 3.7V 1300mAH Li-ion with Call time up to 5 hrs with Standby time up to 70 hrs (per manufacturer). Minimum battery charging time is 3 hrs for recharging and usability. The charging state, temperature, signal strength, and other environmental conditions, function settings, etc, may shorten the call time and standby time. Talk and stand-by times are estimated (when using access points supporting a power-save mode).
