A1200P Base Card Description
The OpenVox A1200P is a PCI card used with Asterisk IP PBX (and variants) to connect to traditional, analog telecommunication equipment. Adding FXS, FXO to the base board creates a "bundle". The A1200P is a base board that supports OpenVox's FXS (green) and FXO (red) modules.
These modules activate ports on the face of the SP141 splitter and decide what functionality they have. FXS modules create "Station" interfaces. These allow you to connect analog telephones and fax machines to Asterisk (or similar IP PBX's). FXO modules create "Office" interfaces that allow you to connect to office lines from analog telephone companies (think dial tone).
